Carlow County Development Partnership (CCDP) is holding a series of free one day workshops to help unemployed people get their first foot on the ladder to self-employment. This workshop is being offered to individuals who are currently unemployed and are exploring the option of becoming self employed or establishing a Small Business.

Social Inclusion Manager of CCDP, Aislinn Brennan says ‘the current economic climate has meant that many people are finding it increasingly difficult to source employment opportunities; this workshop will give individuals the opportunity to explore the option of self employment as an alternative. In some cases individuals may have a business idea whilst others may have a particular hobby or passion that has the potential to be turned into a business opportunity.

The workshop will enable participants to gain an understanding of some of the advantages and challenges of self employment; analyse their strengths and weakness; receive a basic introduction to business legal structures; market research; financing options and local agency supports available to a small businesses in Carlow’.  CCDP are committed to the provision of a wide range of supports for those who are experiencing unemployment across Co. Carlow.

The workshop will take place on Thursday 19th January in CCDP Offices Main Street, Bagenalstown. Places are strictly limited. To book please contact Kilian Duignan on 059 /97 20733 or kduignan@carlowdevelopment.ie
